Why is my tag offline?
A tag shows as Offline when it hasn't checked in recently — roughly the last 10 minutes. It's usually one of a few common causes, and most are quick to fix.
Check these first
- Is the tag powered on? Press and hold the power button for 1–3 seconds until you hear a double beep. See Charge and power on your tag for the full steps.
- Is the battery flat? Real-time updates — like when a pet is marked as Lost — drain the battery quickly. Charge the tag and switch it back on.
- Is your Health subscription active? Live GPS needs an active ZoomiTag Health subscription. If it's lapsed, the tag stops reporting until it's renewed.
- Is it indoors or without signal? The tag needs a mobile signal to report and a view of the sky for a GPS fix. Thick buildings, basements, and very remote areas can stop it checking in until your pet moves back into the open.
- Is it a brand-new tag? Just after activation a tag can take a little while to come online. The first GPS fix can take up to 30 minutes — give it a clear view of the sky.
Subscription errors
Seeing a "subscription required" or "no active subscription" message? Your ZoomiTag Health plan either hasn't been started yet or has lapsed. Manage or start your subscription to restore live GPS, activity, and sleep — once it's active, reopen the app to refresh.
After you start or renew a subscription, the app may still show features locked for a moment. Give it a minute, then reopen the app to refresh your account.
Still offline?
If the tag is powered on, charged, outdoors, and your subscription is active but it's still offline, email hello@zoomitag.com with your serial number and we'll help you get it back online.
