ZoomiTag Basics

What is ZoomiTag and how does this smart pet tag work?

ZoomiTag is a smart pet tag that stores your pet's complete digital pet ID. Anyone who finds your pet can scan the tag with their phone using NFC or QR to instantly see emergency contacts, medical information, and care instructions — no app download required. Upgrade to ZoomiTag Health for a built-in pet health tracker and live GPS pet tracker.

How does NFC and QR scanning work?

Each ZoomiTag has both an NFC chip and a QR code built in. A finder simply taps their phone against the tag (NFC) or opens their camera and points it at the QR code. Either method opens your pet's profile instantly in their web browser. It works on any modern smartphone without installing anything.

What pets is ZoomiTag designed for?

ZoomiTag works for dogs and cats of all sizes. The lightweight, durable design clips onto any standard collar, harness, or pet accessory. Whether you have a Great Dane or a house cat, ZoomiTag fits comfortably.

Is ZoomiTag waterproof?

Yes. ZoomiTag is rated for everyday water exposure including rain, puddles, baths, and swimming. The sealed housing protects the NFC chip and electronics from moisture damage, so your pet can wear it in any weather.

How big and heavy is the tag?

ZoomiTag Lite weighs just 8 grams and measures roughly 30mm in diameter. ZoomiTag Health is slightly larger to accommodate GPS and health sensors but still lightweight enough for medium and large dogs. Neither tag will weigh down your pet's collar.

Pet Profiles

What information is stored on my pet's profile?

Your pet's profile can include their name, breed, age, weight, photo, your contact details, a backup emergency contact, medical conditions, medications, allergies, dietary needs, vet information, behavioural notes, and daily routine. You choose what to include and what to keep private.

Who can see my pet's profile?

You control visibility. When someone scans the tag, they see the public-facing profile you have configured -- typically your pet's name, photo, and your contact number. Authorised family members and co-owners can access the full profile including medical records and routines.

Can I update the profile after setup?

Absolutely. Log in to your Zoomi account at any time to update your pet's details. Changes appear instantly when the tag is scanned. This is a major advantage over engraved tags that become outdated the moment your phone number or address changes.

Can I have multiple pets on one account?

Yes. Your Zoomi account supports unlimited pet profiles. Each pet gets their own ZoomiTag and their own dedicated profile, all managed from a single dashboard. Perfect for multi-pet households.

GPS Tracking & Health

How accurate is the GPS tracking?

The ZoomiTag Health live GPS pet tracker uses multi-constellation GPS for accuracy within 3-5 metres in open areas. In built-up urban areas, accuracy is typically within 10 metres. Location updates can be configured from every 30 seconds to every 10 minutes depending on your needs and battery preference.

What does the pet health tracker monitor?

The ZoomiTag Health pet health tracker monitors daily activity levels, step count, distance walked, rest and sleep patterns, and calories burned. Over time, this live pet health tracker shows trends that help you understand your pet's normal baseline so you can spot changes early and share data with your vet.

How does sleep tracking work?

The built-in accelerometer detects periods of inactivity and distinguishes between light rest and deep sleep. The dashboard shows your pet's sleep duration and quality over time. Changes in sleep patterns can be an early indicator of health issues worth discussing with your vet.

What are geofence alerts?

Geofencing lets you draw a virtual boundary on the map -- for example, your garden or local park. If your pet crosses that boundary, you receive an instant push notification. It is one of the fastest ways to know if your pet has wandered off before they get far.

Is a subscription needed for GPS and health features?

ZoomiTag Lite works with no subscription -- the NFC/QR profile is free forever. GPS tracking and health monitoring on ZoomiTag Health require an annual plan (£49/year) to cover cellular data costs. Check our pricing page for current plans.
