Create a safe zone
A safe zone is a virtual boundary you draw on the map. If your pet crosses it, you get an alert — so you know early if they've wandered off. Safe zones work with the ZoomiTag Health GPS tracker and an active Health subscription.
Where to create one
Safe zones live on the Live Track map:
- iPhone app: open Track, tap Zones, then + to add one.
- Web dashboard: open Live Track, tap the shield icon to open the Safe Zones panel, then + New zone.
The Android app is coming soon. For now, create and manage zones in the iPhone app or the web dashboard.
Create a zone
- Name it — for example, "Garden" or "The park".
- Choose the pets it covers. Each pet needs its own ZoomiTag Health with an active subscription.
- Pick a shape — a circle (set a centre and drag the radius) or a custom shape (tap the map to drop corners).
- Set how long it stays on: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 8 hours, 24 hours, or until you turn it off.
- Choose whether to be alerted when your pet leaves, comes back, or both.
- Save.
Good to know
- You can have up to 20 zones.
- A circle can be roughly 20m to 2km across; custom shapes use 3 to 40 corners.
- GPS is accurate to within about 5m, so draw the zone a little larger than the real boundary for the most reliable alerts.
Start with the places your pet spends the most time, like home and a regular walking spot. You can add, edit, or switch off zones whenever you need.
Once a zone is set, you'll get a notification when your pet enters or leaves it. See Entry and exit alerts for how those work, and Manage notifications to control which ones reach you.
