What a finder sees when they scan
If someone finds your pet, they can scan the ZoomiTag with their phone to see how to reach you — no app or download needed. Here's exactly what happens.
How scanning works
Every ZoomiTag has both an NFC chip and a QR code. A finder can use either:
- NFC — tap the phone against the tag.
- QR — open the camera and point it at the code.
Either way, your pet's public profile opens in their web browser. It works on any modern smartphone.
What the finder sees
The profile page shows whatever you've added and chosen to display:
- Your pet's photo, name, breed and age, plus any badges.
- A lost banner at the top if you've marked your pet as lost.
- The sections you've left visible — safety & medical notes, care & routine, emergency contact and vet.
- Your owner contact, with a Call Owner button that dials your number directly.
You choose which sections appear — see Privacy and visibility.
How a finder contacts you
There are two ways, side by side on the page:
- Call Owner — a one-tap call to the phone number on your profile.
- I've Found This Pet — a short form where the finder can leave a message and, if they allow it, share their current location.
When a finder sends that message, you're notified — by push notification in the app and by email — with their note and any location they shared. If your pet is marked lost, that alert is sent straight away and skips quiet hours.
Make sure your owner phone number is current and reachable, and add a clear photo. Those two things get your pet home fastest.
The rest of your record stays off the public page unless you choose to show it. See Privacy and visibility for the controls.
